#i can’t believe that he’s still going #i just really fucking can’t #i love both winchesters with all my heart but dean has never had the kind of hope or faith that sam does and he never will #it’s what makes them brilliantly different in so many ways #it’s that much harder for dean to keep pressing on when he has absolutely no reason in his mind or heart to believe that this world #it can be saved and is worth saving #yet for all the times he could have given up should have given up he didn’t and i’m so fucking in awe of him 

He does it for Sam…and because he’s a warrior, it’s been drilled into him ever since he was a kid. He does that, keeps fighting for all the little kids who lost their moms, because he knows what it’s like to grow up like that, he does that for all the men who have had their lives shattered, because he saw his father and what he became. He does that so that no family has ever had to endure what his has gone through. He does that, he keeps fighting the fight, even if it has left just a shell of the man he used to be, because it’s right, because he’s the righteous man. The heartbreaking thing…is that he doesn’t fight for himself. He never does. 

Dean Winchester, you have a beautiful, beautiful soul.
